The ShadeSealer-168 Pulse Sealer is controlled using a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC). The PLC is the “brains” of the machine and is located inside the Upper Section control area. To communicate with the PLC, there is a black & white TouchScreen HMI (Human Machine Interface). Touching the screen will input commands. The PLC includes user defined parameters (aka recipes) and machine coded parameters and software. Accessing the PLC via the HMI interface TouchScreen keeps you within the terms of Novaseal’s warranty. In other words, the HMI can not be used to access machine coded parameters or the software that runs the machine. The variables/parameters you can modify using the HMI interface TouchScreen include:
- Entering/Modifying sealing parameters for various materials.
- Editing materials with user defined parameters.
- Activating Automatic PocketMaker feature.
- Specifying Seal Width as 1/4-inch, 1/2-inch or both 1/4-inch and 1/2-inch.
