      APP NOTE:  Rocker Alignment Spacing

Novaseal Rocker System

Spacers are added to the Rocker Rod to align Heating Element as it regards left Rocker Clamp and right Rocker Wheel.  Prior to shipping the TableTop PulseSealer, alignment is preset for default Heating Element width.  Default is usually in the center of the Rocker Rod.  However if you prefer Heating Element to be closer to PocketFormer, then removing spacers closer to the PocketFormer would move Heating Element closer to rear of machine.  Make sure you unclamp the Rocker Clamp on the left side of the machine, and move the Heating Element such that both ends keep Heating Element straight.

Depending how the TableTop PulseSealer was handled during shipping, we have found that at times, shipping personnel will “manhandle” the Rocker System to maneuver the machine.  If this happened to your machine, it is important to assure straightness prior to use.  To reduce manhandling Rockers, we have begun crating the Rocker System with shipments beginning in 2012.  Unfortunately we still receive reports of manhandling.

Do you need to modify spacing?  To determine if spacing needs to be changed, first turn OFF HEAT Control.  Next activate press.  From each end, view and check whether Heating Elements are aligned ... top exactly over bottom Heating Element.  You may need to slightly peel back the Teflon Coated Fiberglas to view Heating Elements.  Any mismatch is not good.  Check both sides.  Also make sure that Heating Elements are not on an angle.  I.e. make sure that Heating Element is the same distance from a known point on the Left End as it is on the Right End.

To change spacing, start by turning OFF the Rocker air pressure.  It may also be necessary to remove Check Valve to completely disconnect air pressure in the Rocker System.  Next remove Rocker Safety Cover(s).  At the front end of the Rocker Rod is a screw.  Remove the screw, and remove plastic spacers until you get to the Rocker Wheel.  Gently remove the Rocker Wheel not to crease Heating Element.  Add or subtract plastic spacers.  If you need more spacers, contact Novaseal.  Once spacers have been added or subtracted, and alignment is assured, re-install other Rocker components, tighten screw, and turn ON Rocker Air Pressure.  Assure alignment with pressure.  If not aligned repeat steps to align.  Once done, re-install Safety Covers.
