Impulse Wire Selector Switch.

This Switch is only available on Table-Top models with PowerPak option.  The Impulse Wire Selector Switch has two positions ... Dual (top & bottom sealing wires are active) and Single (top sealing wire only).  The machine is configured from the factory as Dual.  In the Single position, heat will only come from the Top Sealing Bar.

To switch the machine from Dual to Single, several steps are required.

  1. Turn off the machine and disconnect power from the machine.
  2. Find the Impulse Wire Selector Switch.  This is a very simple switch and basically looks like a rectangular piece of aluminum.  In Dual mode, the aluminum strip connects studs 1 & 2.  Unscrew terminals and locate aluminum strip to next adjacent studs, 2 & 4.  Fasten screw terminals.
  3. Transformer #3 is the switching transformer.  To switch from Dual to Single, you will be basically changing the voltage of the machine from 64 Volts to 48 Volts.  Driving the top only sealing bar with more than 48 Volts is dangerous and highly discouraged.  In order to reduce the voltage, remove the top screw holding the transformer cover on Transformer #3 (Front View, most Left transformer), and remove the cover.  You will see a white plastic plate.  The plate includes 3 studs, from left they are numbered 4, 2, and 1.  For Dual, the X2 and X3 wires are connected to Stud #2.  For Single, the X2 wire needs to be connected to Stud #4; and the X3 wire needs to be connected to Stud 1.
