Instructions to Install IDEC PLC Updates

1. Turn Power Off on Control Box.
2. Switch Safety Switch to the OFF Position.
3. Remove Control Box Cover.
4. Look for the PLC as shown here:
5. Open the Flap to the right.  Please do not use tools to open Flap.

7. Locate the Memory Cartridge slot as circled in red in the photo below.

9. Make sure power to the machine is OFF.  Next, you need to replace the dummy cartridge shown above or replace the prior update Memory Cartridge.  Hold the ribs on top and bottom of the cartridge, pull the cartridge straight out.  If needed, a small flat screwdriver may be used to urge removal of the Memory Cartridge. 
10. Make sure of correct orientation of the Memory Cartridge and install the Memory Cartridge into the cartridge connector securely. 
11. The Memory Cartridge contains the software update and must remain installed for the PLC’s CPU to access updated information.  Removing the Memory Cartridge will reverse programming code to original factory default.
12. Close the Flap on the right side of the PLC.
13. Replace Control Box Cover.
14. Position Safety Switch in the ON position.
15. Turn Control Box Power Switch to ON position.  After doing this, the PLC will refer to Memory Cartridge for updated programming code.  On subsequent software updates, you will need to return previously installed Memory Cartridge to avoid Memory Cartridge charges.
